this is why i love teaching in the south

This morning we woke up to a whopping 1.5 inches of snow on the ground! My lower school principal called me at 5:30am to tell me that school was canceled! Yahoo. This is why I love teaching in the south...its amazing that the whole city closes for a little bit of snow!

A snowy view from our balcony.
Of course I thought that today should be a holiday anyway being it the Presidential Inauguration of our country! What a day, the history, the symbolism, President Obama's speech and the amazing prayer by Rick Warren! Wow!

Our car with today's date...an important date for our country!
Daniel did have to work but was able to hang out a little bit this morning. There is this incredible new french bakery/cafe place near us now, so a few of us met up and celebrated a day off and watched the inaugural.

Intensely watching the change in office.

Do you know that here if we have a snowday, the year-round schools have to make up on saturdays? For real, yo!
