It really has been a weekend of parties...Thursday is usually our small group night but instead we got together and took over a local pizza place...Friday after school there was a bridal shower for one of our teachers who is getting married next month, then I left early to make it to Rachael's surprise birthday party. And then this afternoon (Sat) I drove up to Burlington for Christy's baby shower! It was so wonderful and exciting to see Christy after all these years. For those that don't know Christy, she was my freshman year roomie @ Liberty! We had such a great year together....just me and her! (well, there were those 4 weeks of another roommate that joined us after Christmas break....but we won't mention those stories.) Anyway, Christy and her husband, Luis (who I have yet to meet), are expecting their first bambino in just about 23 days! It was a beautiful shower...yummy eats, fun ice cream sundaes, colorful flowers and bows, good conversations...really it was, until a girl knocked over the hot fudge sauce onto the dining room carpet...not just any ole' carpet, but a beautiful oriental rug that I am sure costs more than my life is worth! It was quite the awkward moment...I did have a thought to grab my camera for a blog moment but then realized that it probably wouldn't be kind shower etiquette. Anyway, besides the fudge on rug drama the shower was a huge hit! Like I said, the best was seeing my ole' college roommate and her baby belly...it had been probably 8 years since I had seen Christy...she looks great pregnant and thankfully has been consistent all these years with quick wit and jovial kindness...like I always knew she would be! So proud of you, Christy...can't wait to meet that little boy!!

Thanks for posting GOOD pictures, Jamie! I am so glad you were there. When you get a chance, please email the pictures you took so that I can make a book for this baby of importante things in his life.
I love it!!! How fun to log on here and see Christy after all these years (you know she doesn't post many pictures of herself on her own blog)!! She looks so great pregnant and I'm so jealous that you got to see her in real life! What a fun weekend!!!
What fun you had!! I was totally dying reading about the hot fudge on the rug story - SO glad it wasn't me! I would have DIED!
