new job update

I am just about finished with my first week at my new job. I have an awesome opportunity to work at the Children's Theatre of Charlotte this summer. This week was my first week and I am just shadowing another teacher, getting used to the schedule, way of presenting the books, dramatizing them out and all that stuff. Its been so fun and so tiring at the same time.

Next week I fly solo...I'll be teaching the preschool camp in the morning, have an hour for lunch and then do the primary camps in the afternoon. Basically, through the course of the morning and afternoon session the camp kids are divided up in 3 groups. The groups rotate around to a drama teacher, music teacher and art teacher. There are summer interns that take the kids to the bathroom, give snack and work the "drop off/pick up" side of things. So most of the summer I am teaching drama....I'm so not a drama person (many would beg to differ) but really I have never set foot on a stage behind a curtain so I am a little nervous. But it should be a good time.

One of the great things about working at the CTC is that it is literally 3 minutes away from home...though I will have to work at the north and south satalite campus', most of the time I will be working at the theatre which will make my gas budget very happy!

This sounds fun. I would do the art teacher part (I like to save the drama for my poor husband). If you need a special drama guest, I can still pregnant-cry on a dime :)

How fun for you! And anything that will save some gas is a good thing! You could just RUN to work every day! :)
