our snow-covered parking lot...its a blizzard out here guys, be careful on the trecherous, snow covered roads...schools are cancelled, the whole city is shut down...only go out if necessary...use extreme caution! (i think we're going to make it!)
daniel and jamie...snow day 2008
this morning we woke up to a charlotte snow day! being from northern virginia, this is definitely "southern snow". i was so happy when daniel came in to tell me that schools were closed...ok, so i don't really work that much as it is (4 days a week until 1pm...plus i am off friday and then also this monday for MLK holiday), but it is nice to have another bonus day...a 5 day weekend if you will! i begged daniel to stay home too and not to venture into the inclement weather, but he had already had meetings planned for the day. oh, well...i guess i will just have to enjoy the hot cocoa by myself. :)
i did manage to get daniel to come outside with me to enjoy the snow for 10 minutes...it was 7:30am. YES, 7:30am when we ventured out for a friendly game of snowball throwing...7:30am most days i am still in my "no-talking-give-me-coffee" state. daniel was completley in shock at my happy, jovial and chipper attitude so early...in which i replied, "its a snow day what is there not to be happy about?" plus, we had to get out at 7:30am to enjoy the snow, seeing as it would probably melt before noon, a much more apt time of condo-leaving for me).
basically, the whole city has shut down for snow (that isn't even stuck to the pavement) and sleet that has now turned to rain! gotta love the south!

Maybe we should move somewhere cold since you enjoy the snow so much?!?! I'm glad you are able to stay home enjoy the day while I am working out in it :(
Jamie..you are so funny. Lucky you...5 day weekend. Enjoy it!! I wish it would snow here, even if it was only a little. Daniel must be a wonderful guy to go out and play in the snow with you that early. haha!! Love ya girl.
When I lived in VA Beach I remember the world shutting down for a centimeter of snow. We had four inches the other day and Emma didn't even get out of school early.
BTW, your husband is a great sport to let you take so many pics of him so early in the morning. Ryan wouldn't have been so amused!
We're hoping to get some tonight...very jealous of everyone else's snow!!! :)
