last night we had "date night" and took daniel's parents' boat out on mountain island lake, which is just north of charlotte. it was so fun cruising around the lake and enjoying the sunset. we brought a picnic dinner and watched a few, brave water-skiers circle around us. as the sun set we read a bit of a book that we have been reading ("what is the what" just in case you wondered...a recommended read). it was so great to retreat from the city and taking in the beauty and rest of the lake as well as enjoying quality time together.
